Itinerary

Day 1: Arrive in Istanbul, Turkey

Arrive to Istanbul Ataturk Airport and transfer to your hotel. Overnight in Istanbul.

Day 2: Istanbul (Breakfast – Lunch)

Cross the Bosphorus by the underground and near Uskudar, visit the Maiden Tower built on a natural rock in the middle of the sea, the stage for the final scene of James Bond movie “The World is Not Enough”. Continue to Kadikoy District. Discover the typical marketplace and lunch. Take the nostalgic tram to stroll around the neighborhood and free time at leisure in the pedestrian area. Return to the European side by “Vaporetto” (traditional boats for the public transportation on the Bosphorus). Overnight in Istanbul.

Day 3: Istanbul  (Breakfast – Lunch)

Visit of the Suleymaniye Mosque, the finest and most magnificent of the imperial mosques in the city. Take in wonderful panoramas of the Golden Horn on the cable car and in Pierre Loti Coffee House. Visit Istanbul’s most sacred site at the Eyüp Sultan Mosque and Tomb. Discover why thousands of faithful visit every day. After lunch discover the new city with Taksim Square, Istiklal Street and Ancient Pera. Return to the hotel. Overnight in Istanbul.

Day 4: Istanbul  (Breakfast – Lunch)

Visit Topkapi Palace, the largest and oldest of the remaining palaces where Ottoman Sultans used to live; admire the gardens, kitchens, the treasury section as well as terraces overlooking the Bosphorus and the Golden Horne. Explore Saint Sophia, one of the marvels of Byzantine architecture. Visit the Blue Mosque covered by more than 20,000 Iznik tiles and the Roman Hippodrome. Lunch in a local restaurant. In the afternoon, discover the handcrafts of Anatolia and shop in the labyrinth tunnels of the Grand Bazaar. Return to the hotel. Overnight in Istanbul.

Day 5: Istanbul  (Breakfast)

Free time in the historical Spice Market to feel the exoticism of the Orient. Enjoy a languorous boat trip along the European and Asian coasts of the Bosphorus. Transfer to Istanbul Ataturk Airport for your flight back home.

    "Highly recommend" My husband and I have just returned from a 13 day tour of Turkey with Flo Tours on November 3. Our journey started in Istanbul, took us to Ankara, Cappadocia, Konya, Pamukkale, Hierapolis, Kusadasi, Ephesus, Pergamum, Canakkale, Troy and back to Istanbul. The original tour group was limited to 24 persons. When we arrived in Istanbul we were met by a single lady and that turned out to be our tour group, just the three of us. The rest of the persons in the group had cancelled. I am assuming the cancellations were because of the unrest in Syria. Turkey is a very large, ancient and geographically diverse county. The Turks that we encountered were warm, friendly and very hospitable. A smile and sign language would overcome the language barrier easily. Our \"private tour\", so to speak, was fabulous for us, but not so good for the Turkish economy which lists tourism as its second largest industry! I would like to say to your readers who are considering a trip to Turkey, go! At no time on our journey did we feel unsafe or threatened. We saw no signs of military presence anywhere, except for honorary guards at the Mausoleum of Ataturk. When we had free time at the beaches and in Istanbul, we felt safe. The people were very helpful and friendly. We had such a great time with the Turks and saw so many marvels of ancient history and the Hot Air Balloon ride in Cappadocia was awesome! My husband and I both highly recommend traveling in Turkey!
